Out of mind, forget it. There's nothing to lose, but my mind and all the things I wanted [/color] Spruceburn listened as Birdsong broke into sobs, it felt like his heart was breaking in two but he kept his face blank. He didn't turn to her as she ran out, though everything in him screamed at him to go comfort her and yelled at him for doing this. '' You may not care about the scars, but I do. '' Spruceburn whispered to himself. Wow, you're just like Wolfstar. You pathetic excuse for a warrior, you know you love her. That annoying voice that always tells you right from wrong told him in the back of his mind. The warrior ignored it, he may not be doing what was right but he was doing what was best. He was scarred and broken, he didn't deserve the title of a warrior. By the time he had saved Wolfstar, he had already lost two lives. He wasn't a hero and he deserved the burns he got. Birdsong deserves more than me. Spruceburn told himself firmly as he fought the urge to chase after her.

Roseflight looked at her clanmate's limb bodies, unable to keep the dread from swollowing her heart. But she tried her best to maintain her compuser, if only for Sagekit. "May StarClan light their paths," she echoed softly, then spoke louder with sudden confidence. "Let StarClan light all of our paths, as one clan united. So that we may not lead seperate lives, but one so in times like these, we may look to eachother for support, care, and love as a true clan should." The words had simply came to her, and Roseflight hoped they would give courage to her clan, since they seemed to need it right now. Especially their leader. Medicine Cats always seemed to know better than anyone how stressful being a leader was. So she willed greiving Wolfstar strength to keep their clan together and to lead them well, and the knowledge that he will not have to do it alone. Although the clan may need their leader to keep maintained, they will also do anything for them.

Doveheart stood in the entrance to the medicine cats den. She had listened to the whole ceramony without hearing it. She still gave her congrats to the newly made warriors with as much enthusiasm as she could muster. Her heart ached for the three warriors that had left for StarClan though. The she-cat gave no hint that she overheard Spruceburn and Birdsong talking. Her tail was drooping, but that was the only sign for her grief. A little flare of gratitude reached out to Roseflight when she spoke encouraging words to the Clan. These next few days were going to put everyone to the test at just how well they could function under death, a new deputy, and new warriors. StarClan help them all, they were going to need it.

Sagekit looked over at Roseflight and smiled. "They were great cats." She purred.

Silentpaw blinked kindly over at his mentor, Featherheart, who had just become deputy. Even though he was proud of her new position, his heart still welled with saddness over the fallen warriors. And seeing Wolfstar so sad only made matters worse. He looked over at his mentor again, stood up, and padded over to Emberpaw and Starlingsong. He pressed his nose to Starlingsong's shoulder, greif scents rolling off him. He looked at the older but beautiful body of Brindlefeather, sat down, and pressed his muzzle into her fur, praying to Starclan that she would have a peacfull after-life

"Thanks." Starlingsong meowed with watery eyes to Silentpaw. He let out a deep sigh and laid down next to Brindlefeather's body to say his last good-bye to his going-to-mate. He licked her forehead. He was going to remember her being a very beautiful cat but it was her scent that he would always remember her by.

Silentpaw lifted his head after a few minutes, nodded to Emberpaw, grabbed a mouse, and headed towards the Apprentices den. He settled down in his nest next to Whisperpaw and started eating the mouse
Littlepaw silently watched the catastrophy with Birdsong and Spruceburn. Anger bubbled inside of her as she watched the scarred tom turn away from Birdsong and say they could never be togeather. She stalked up to him in the medicene cat den and asked him the simplest question ever, "Why" . Her green eyes blazed. "You have no right to hurt Birdsong like that. You know you love her, she dosn't care if you have burns or scars! None of us care. But if you want to ruin her and your life, fine. Be that way.". She stalked out again toward the camp entrance, her fur prickling with energy, powered by anger.
