Starlingsong walked up to the waters edge and looked down at his reflection. He really missed Brindlefeather, but he feels its time to move on. He hope she was in great care in StarClan. His blue eyes started to water, he shrugged his feelings away and decide to fish to keep his mind distracted. He very carefully dropped him head low to the water, his eyes looking for any movement of a fish. Silently he wait for a fish.

[Ember~Rain]

Emberflash came down by the river, as he did daily. He did so because the river had always reminded him of the special little sparkle in Gladetail's eyes. As he made his way to his usual place, usual time, he spotted his old mentor, Starlingsong, fishing at the edge of the river. Though he was watching the river intently, his movements showed that he wasn't into it. He was mourning. Mourning the loss of Brindlefeather. Emberflash knew what it felt like to want something so badly, and have it taken away from you. But he was happy now, unlike Starlingsong.

He padded quietly over to his mentor and sat down besides him. "You miss her, down you?" he meowed softly, gazing into the river, trying to hide the pain in his voice.

[mouse]

Starlingsong backed away from the water and blanked at Emberflash, but he managed a small smile. "Of course, I miss her...I loved her. I didn't really realize until it was too late." He mumbled. "I'm sorry I neglected you when you were my apprentice...I should have took better care of you. I'm sorry."

[Weepingkit]

Weepy was watching the whole this unfurl from the top of a tree close by, he was intrigued by these cats, they were different than all the other cats he has seen, they had a strange social connection. He jumped down from the tree and walked behind the one called Starlingsong.
"The one you care about, she is closer than you think."

[mouse]

Starlingsong turned and looked down at the little tom kit. "What do you mean, young one?" He asked in a curious tone.

[Weepingkit]

The kitten smiled,
"you are not the only person who had lost somebody close, there is a place were you can talk to her."

[mouse]

"I though that was only for Leaders and Medicine Cats?" Starlingsong meowed to Weepingkit.

[Weepingkit]

The kit smiled
"Wow dad was right, for your civilization and social structure you are some kind of stupid!" The kit chuckled at his own joke."The place you cats call "Starclan" is so close i can almost smell the pelts of the dead."

[mouse]

"I know what StarClan is, its just normal cats like me can't talk to StarClan unless your a leader or Medicine cat..." He mumbled to the little kit and sighed. Everyone liked to push-over him.

[Weepingkit]

The kit stopped his foolishness sensing the cats discomfort.
"OK i think i will out it plan and simple to you right now,there is no starclan, my father was a curios cat and all throughout his travel's your "Clans" are the only people that think starclan is real. But that doesn't mean you still cant talk to her, it just means it will take a little bit of help...lets see here." the small tom looked around in the treetops looking for something helpful.

[Ember~Rain]

Emberflash felt sympathy for his poor old mentor. "You never neglected me. You were the best mentor I could ever had. I was ready to be a warrior the day she died, and you had the right to mourn. We all did. We all lost someone special. I still cringe when I think of their bodies lying in the clearing, not breathing, not moving, not making a sound. I think we were all pretty scared at that moment, but it was the will of Starclan, and if Starclan wills, then let it be told." Emberflash meowed wisely, trying to hold back the few tears that were trying to push themselves out of his tear-ducts.

[Weepingkit]

while Weeping was looking around in the trees and heard emberflash he turned around,
"OK so do YOU want to talk to someone you lost as well or am i gonna only help this poor sap?" he said flicking his tail at starlingsong.

[mouse]

Starlingsong smiled at Emberflash. "Thank you." He meowed in a quiet voice then turned to Weepingkit. "I would like to talk with Brindlefeather alone so I'll do it later."

[Ember~Rain]

Emberflash narrowed his eyes at the kit. "Kit, that isn't possible. Why don't you just leave? Starclan visits us in our dreams when they feel that the time is right." he growled, moving closer twoards his mentor.

[Weepingkit]

weeping shrugged
"You can sit here talking to a river and never know if my methods will work, so i hope you have fun talking to a river." Weeping then ran up a tree and camouflaged himself in the leaves watching the two cat's reaction.
