Rosepaw slept fitfully in her next, the slight rise and fall of her flank proving she was alive. But her peaceful dream was soon disrupted by something that had always troubled her mind. And it wasn't her cripple. Rosepaw practically flew through the trees, over joyed by the feeling of freedom. With the wind in her fur, she looked like a multi-colored streak in the trees, one moment she was here, next moment she was there. Roseflight. That's what they would call her. Speed in the trees was one of her best skills, and would prove her as a great warrior in the future. Finally running short of breath, the apprentice jumped easily and gracefully to the ground, despite the height. A head poked out of the bushes, and it was. . . Sleetmask? What could she be doing in her dream? Rosepaw was slightly surprised at her own dream, knowing she rarely dreamed of others. An omen from StarClan? Sleetmask smiled at Rosepaw with the kindness usually only seen between family members. What in the world? Suddenly, the sky seemed to darken, and it began to snow- no sleet. But it wasn't just sleet. t was rose petals too. . .

"Rosepaw!" Came Doveheart's sharp mew. The medicine cat stood over her apprentice, confusion and annoyance written on her face. She had been sleeping in her nest when she woke to what sounded like a fight. The fight turned out to be the sleeping cat kicking madly as if she was trying to grow wings. Sitting down to groom her fur, the she-cat prodded the calico with a paw. "Wake up!" She meowed.

Rosepaw woke with a jolt, jumping to her paws. She looked around frantically, as if making sure it had really been a dream. Thankfully, it was. It hadn't been a nightmare really, but it had scared her slightly still. "I- It was just a bad dream. . I'm going for a walk." she said quickly, not waiting for a response. The apprentice wanted to confront Sleetmask badly, but didn't dare wake her in the middle of the night for it. It was already a little past moon high when she walked as fast as her paw would allow her out of camp.

Doveheart followed her out of the den. Stopping just past the curian of willow, she watched the figure of the young she-cat limp out of camp. Her eyes narrowed at her words, tail twitching slightly. There wasnt much that Rosepaw could get worked up about over a dream. The medicine cat wondered if it had anything to do with StarClan, and decided that she would ask her apprentice later.

(How about she doesn't know Rosepaw is her sister either.)
Sleekmask was on night watch out of camp when she saw Rosepaw run past her. She looked really upset so she trotted after her to see if she was alright. "Hey Rosepaw. Are you OK?" She meowed softly.

Rosepaw whipped around, just outside the camp entrance to see Sleetmask. The she-cat had been in her dream. At least she was awake now, so the apprentice could question her. The fluffy grey warrior looked warrior looked even more silver in the moonlight. With a deep sigh, Rosepaw sat down and looked up at the stars. "I-. . . I had a dream. And you were in it. I think it was a sign from StarClan. . ." the medicine cat apprentice said in a small rush, still gazing at the silverpelt.

"Oh... I-I," Sleekmask paused looking at Rosepaw then down at her paws. "Maybe you should ask Doveheart about it, because I'm not sure what that means. I'm sorry." She sighed sitting down by Rosepaw and pressed her pelt against hers as a sign of comfort. "I wish I knew." She whispered.

Rosepaw shook her head in frusteration. No. The apprentice respected her mentor, and felt extremly close, knowing Doveheart was her closest thing to kin. But this dream was sent to Rosepaw, and was for her alone, and Sleetmask. She knew that much. "If the dream had been meant for Doveheart, it would have been sent to her." she mumbled, trying to think. The young medicine cat apprentice thought about what the signs could have meant. Sleet and rose petals?

Sleekmask shrugged. "I'm not a medicine cat, Rosepaw, I wouldn't know what it means." The fluffy grey she-cat sighed.

Rosepaw sat in silence for a moment longer, thinking long and hard. Then it struck her. A frusterated hiss passed her lips at her stupidity. In her heart, she felt it was right. But why this? The apprentice had grown to accept not knowing her past. Why now?! "We're kin. . ."

She nodded, as if it all made sense, as if there were no missing puzzle peices in her head although she only had a few. Some of it made sense now. But now something was tugging at her heart. The need to know. "Sleetmask. . . What happened?" she asked, her gaze suddenly confused and sorrowful as she stared out into the forest.

"Well, I was just made an apprentice when your were born and at a moon old, you somehow got out of the camp and got lost. We looked for you for many sunsets but we feared that you were dead. Then someone said that they found a kit, but it was moons later and we didn't expect it to be you. Whitestreak, our mother agreed to nurse the stranded kit but not knowing took its toll on her and Silverflame and they dead..." She meowed shaking of the memory. "Their love for you had killed them."

"Its OK, Rosepaw. You were only a kit, but think about it this way. You were always with us...We just never knew." Sleekmask meowed softly.
