Icegaze was walking around the forest to make sure she still had the layout in her head when she heard the beautiful sound of water running over rocks and pebbles. She walked as close to the river as she could, she was still afraid of water and alway's will be but the sound was so beautiful, and still yet scary.

Greenlily was out stretching her legs again, and as she padded calmly towards the river she scented Icegaze. She went to find the new warrior crouched down beside the river. Greenlily purred a greeting, and Icegaze jumped, whirling around to look at her. "Sorry to startle you," she mewed kindly. "What are you up to?"

She had closed her eyes and was so foacused on the sound of the river she didn't hear Greenlily come up on her. The blind cat jumped and turned red under her pelt, she opened her eyes and turned her head so it looked like she was looking at the other she-cat. "Oh nothing. Just listening to the river." she closed her eyes again and turned her head tward's the river again. "It sound's so beautiful." she sighed a little. "What are you doing?" she asked.

"The kits were asleep, so I went out for a walk. Being a queen is wonderful, but I'm getting so restless in the nursery," Greenlily admitted, coming over to crouch down beside Icegaze. She closed her own eyes and listened as the river flowed, and she realized that Icegaze was right. Though she'd often disregarded it, the sound of the river was beautiful. "I don't think I would have noticed how soothing listening to the river was if you hadn't mentioned it, Icegaze," she informed the other she-cat friendily.

"Yeah, most cat's don't ever really just sit still for a bit and close their eyes, just to listen to what's around them. They miss out on what beauty sound's like." she said, she loved sound's it was sound's that kept her from running into thing's. Her ear's where like a bat's ear's they helped her navogate. "It's so beautiful and quite here."

Greenlily opened her eyes and watched the way the sun glinted off the river. It seemed to blink benignly, rainbows dancing off the surface and thier reflection sparkling in her eyes. She sighed again, content. "Doesn't it look beautiful, too? It's so gorgeous. Don't you love the way the sun shines on it and throws colours everywhere?"

Icegaze opened her eyes lik she was looking but of course she saw nothing. It was all darkness, it always be darkness for her. She closed her eyes again, as usual she had to lie and agree with the other cat but this time she wanted a friend who she didn't have to lie to, and wouldn't be hurt when they found out the truth. "I don't really know. I-I'm blind. . . I can't see a thing." she said sadly.

Greenlily blinked in surprise, and then immediatley felt a rush of chagrin. "Oh, Icegaze, I didn't mean... I hope I didn't offend you. I didn't know." Wanting to recover after her mistake, she licked the other she-cat's ear kindly. "No matter, it sounds far prettier than it looks, anyway. If you hadn't been blind, you might not have noticed, and then I wouldn't have either. Thank you for sharing your perspective with me."

"Your wel-" she satrted to say but then she heard a feint rustlu of leave's, it was so quite that she knew Greenlily wouldn't have heard it. "Greenlily. There's a rouge in the bushes. He smell's ready for a fight be prepaired." she whispered to her friend so the rouge wouldn't hear her. She stood up slowly and turned tward's the rouge in the bushes.

Crouching down so that her stomach was pressed flat to the ground, Greenlily listened hard and scented the air for the rogue that Icegaze had warned her of. At first she thought that their was nothing, but then she caught the faint scent on the air. She was suddenly extremely grateful that Icegaze was there, or she may not have been prepared for the obvious battle that was about to ensue. She dug her claws into the dirt and waited silently for her chance to spring.

She crouched down and waited. She listened to his breathing and soft slow movement's, this cat seamed to be used to having to be really quite, it reminded her of Stonepelt. He was for ever trying to make his step's so quite that even Icegaze couldn't hear him but it never happened. The rouge's breathing quickened and she heard him bunch his muscles. "Becareful. He's getting ready to jump." she whispered to Greenlily.

There was a beat of what seemed to Greenlily like dead silence, and then with a loud battle cry a dark grey tabby tom flew out of the undergrowth and ran into Icegaze head on, bowling her over easily. They screeched and writhed together for a moment, and Greenlily watched with wide, horror-filled eyes. Then she collected herself and with a furious hiss she thre herself into the fray. She leapt onto the rogue's back, digging her claws into his shoulders and gripping on tight. At first it was to try and get him off Icegaze, but when he released the she-cat and began bucking and rolling, it was for dear life. She released a terrified yowl as she realized how close his flailing paws were taking them to the river's edge.

She listened to the fight for a secone and heard them getting closer and closer to the river. She yowled then attacked the rouge, she grabbed ahold of his scruff and with all her strenhth she pulled hi hack up the bank.Insatanly he forgot about Greenlily who was on his back, and he attacked Icey again, this time she was even better prepaired than befor. She knocked him in the side of the hear with her claws leavine three really deep cut's there.

Greenlily lay on the sandy ground for a moment, having had the breath knocked out of her. When she was able to breathe again, she hauled herself to her paws and looked over to find Icegaze towering over the rogue, one bloody forepaw pinning him down. Greenlily observed the deep gashes down his flank that Icegaze had created. He stayed still as Greenlily came over, but once she was in range he lunged upwards. The two she-cats managed to tackle him down together, hissing angrily. It was then that they heard another cat approaching, and both she-cats drew in a deep breath to catch the scent of the SunClan cat that was rushing through the forest towards them. Good; they'd need help in getting the viscious lump of fur beneath thier claws back to camp.

She hissed at the rouge. "What's your name?" she demanded out of him. "But my dear blind apprentice. . . have you forgotten about me already?" he asked her. Suddenly his sent was femilier to her. "No, it can't be, Stoneplet. Why did you attack me?" she asked her old mentor. "Well, you see. EarthClan found me a couple moon's ago and said if I come kill you I'll be able to rejoin." he informed her. She slowly moved her paw closer to his throat and pushed down slightly. She stayed like that until the potrol showed up then she moved her paw and let them take him away. She stayed silent the whole time, her mind in too much of a shock to do anything else.
