 The moon crested over the horizon, casting an eerie glow over the canopies of Yellowstone. A gentle breeze grabbed ahold of the forest’s branches, forcing maze-like shadows on the forest floor to dance. With crickets chirping in an ever-present melody, a small creek babbling nearby, and the occasional owl hooting in the distance, the songs of the night were in full swing. A steady heart beat against a solid chest while two determined, amber eyes focused in on the silhouette through cracks in the underbrush. Silently the russet beast ran his pink tongue over his muzzle, his ears erect and listening intently. Adrenaline pumped heavily through his veins, a lust to kill lingering in the forefront of his mind. Yet, the serene scene remained oblivious to the hunter in the shadows.
He crept foreword, freezing as a twig snapped beneath his massive paw. A slender head shot up, and the moment those eyes met his own, his coiled muscles released, rocketing the snarling brute towards the innocent prey. The chase was short, but only sweet in the sense that the Xykin Outcrop wolf pack would not go hungry that night.

Welcome to Xykin Outcrop, a fictional wolf pack who make their home in the wonderful world of WolfQuest! Never heard of it? Check it out! Xykin’s pack enrollment is always open and has unlimited positions.
I like to consider us different in quite a few ways. Unlike the majority of other wolf RPs we have no central plot, however mini-plots are highly encouraged! Unlike many of the other WolfQuest packs, we are made up of a group of literate, post-by-post roleplayers. Rather than saying "My wolf's name is Luna, shes black with blue eyes, nice, and loves pups," we develop our characters further by posting longer biographies and getting to know each other through RP on the boards. All levels of RP and ages (this site is PG) are accepted, but we encourage all players to stretch themselves to about 200 words. Basically we're your average wolf RPers who also get together to play a realistic, virtual game with our characters. Cool, huh?
We're relatively new; opened in January. We have five or six really active members so far, and most of them have more than one character. Diversity is key, and every player is different here on XO, though all are very friendly and great to chat-it-up with. We have many games and contests, a beautiful skin, are very laid back, and also have quite a few graphics artists who are always ready to dish out some nice pictures.
