Warrior Ceremonies

Wolfstar leapt up on top of the Shining Rock. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey, join beneath the Shining Rock for a clan meeting!" he called. He sat down on the Shining Rock and waited for his clan to gather

Seeing that every cat was there, he began. "Dawnpaw, Birdpaw, and Hazelpaw, you are all ready to become warriors. Do you promise to uphold the warrior code and protect and defend the clan even at the cost of your lives?" the apprentices meowed solemn "I do's." "Very well. From this moment on, you will be known as Birdsong. Starclan honors you for your loyalty and devotion. Dawnpaw, from this moment on you will be known as Dawnfeather. Starclan honors you for your skill and bravery. Hazelpaw, from this moment on you will be known as Hazelsky. Starclan honors you for your integrety and willingness. We welcome you three as warriors! "Wolfstar jumed down from the rock and rested his muzzle on their heads, and got a quick lick on his shoulder in return. Before cats began to call their name,s he meowed, " You will sit your silent vigils tonight and your duties start tomorrow."

[Spruceburn]

Sprucepaw cheered loudly for his clanmates, Birdsong in particular. When the clan broke into small groups he walked over to the tawny she-cat with a plump rabbit in his jaws and sat down next to her, '' Wanna share? '' he asked her with a smile. Even though Birdsong was older than him, Sprucepaw was already a bit bigger than her. It wouldn't be long until he became a warrior too. The young tom took a bite of the prey, '' I'm gonna miss you in the apprentices' den, '' he meowed to her after he swallowed his prey.

Maplepaw chanted along with everyone else there.
"Congrats you three!" She called to them.
She caught Sprucepaw talking to Birdsong, and her whiskers quivered in amusement. The young she-cat heard his words, and it suddenly struck her that there were only three apprentices left now. The den was really going to be empty tonight!

[Birdsong]

Birdsong settled down beside Sprucepaw and gladly shared the rabbit with him. When he told her that he was going to miss her, she felt a warm tingly sensation in the pit of her stomach. "Well I sure won't miss the snoring," she teased. But then she leaned over and licked his cheek. "You'll be a warrior soon enough," she murmured. She then added in an amused purr, "And then you'll be stuck with me until one of us ascends to StarClan."
