Final Forest Trip

Snowfur sat in the tree where she had fell in love with her mate.
I can't believe that I'm going to have kits! This is gonna be my last forest trip for awhile.
Then she heard rustling in the bushes below.
She jumped down ever so silently and started hissing at the bush where she heard the noises.
"Show yourself!"
She said.

[Mudface]

Dragging out the delicious remaints of a blackbird, Mudface licked his jaws hungrily. "Mmm, you don't find blackbirds like that much anymore!" He sat down and began to clean the blood from his claws. "I mean, in my old Clan -- " He cut himself off, and looked up to a snowy white she-cat, slightly plump with coming kits. She was SunClan, thank goodness. He had thought for a second he had wondered off into some unknown Clan's territory.

"Ah, hello there!" Grinning at the slightly bristling she-cat, he said, "I'm Mudface. And you are?"

"I'm Snowfur.... I didn't know you were a Sunclan cat... I'm just trying to protect my kits."
She said referring to her litter on the way.

[Mudface]

"Nice to meet you, Snowfur." Mudface had finished his share of the blackbird, was about to discard the rest, but then realized Snowfur was still there. Maybe I should ... give it to her ... ? he thought quizically. Well, yes, a she-cat expecting kits needed to keep her strength up.

"Well, then," he paused, pushing the half-way eaten carcass of the blackbird towards Snowfur some. "Why don't you finish this blackbird for me? I'm sure you'll need plenty of food to keep your kits strong and healthy before they're born."

Sitting back, he closed his eyes and began to groom his chest fur. Peeping one eye open, he asked her, "Who's their father? I'm sure he must be quite proud." Smiling, he went back to grooming himself with long, rhythmic strokes.

"Thanks." She said as she finished the blackbird."Well the father is Coalstorm.... but I haven't told him yet. I just found out at sun high."
She told him.

[Mudface]

"Oh," he meowed, pausing in between his grooming. "Well, all the same, I'm sure he'll still be quite proud."

" I hope so..."
She said doubtfully.

[Mudface]

Looking up, he stared at her intently. "Hope so ... ? Why don't you know so?" Mudface knew he might have been messing around in some toxic material, but if it meant making the bond between Snowfur and Coalstorm any better before her kits were born, then he was all for it.

"Well.... he said he didn't want kits for awhile...I've seen toms not knowing they had kits and tried to kill them. I would know, my dad was a loner and I barely got away alive."
She said with tears in her eyes.
