Doveheart followed Sleetmask through the small opening. Once on the other side, she wrinkled her nose in disgust. "I beg to differ." She muttered to Batflight's comment. The medicine cat raised her head to look at the ceiling of the cave once her eyes ajusted to the gloom. Stars could be seen in an opening far above the cat's heads. She felt her jaw drop as she took in just how many bats where living in this one spot. Regaining her composure, the she-cat cast the deputy a quick side glance. The warrior cat still in her found its way to the surface as she realized how many mouths these bats could feed in leaf-bare. The blue eyed SunClan cat clamped her mouth shut and continued to gaze about her. Every cat knew better then to speak of killing Batflight's "kin."

"It is beautiful in here, Batflight." Sleekmask meowed in agreement looking up at the ceiling of the cave. The cave was somewhat cold and had a wet feeling to it, but as long as the bats enjoyed living there. It didn't bother her much.

Batflight hid her anger at Doveheart's comment, why could she not understand? '' I would rather look for the stars, Doveheart, than curse the darkness. '' She replied coolly to the medicine cat. All Doveheart did was think about the bad things bats did, and half of the things cats thought about bats was not true, instead of all the good things. Suddenly a small bat clinging to the ceiling of the cave caught her eye, '' You see that smaller bat there, Sleetmask? '' she meowed to the younger she-cat, pointing at the young bat with her tail, '' That's Elfy. She hasn't even left the cave yet, but I think she will soon. ''

"Aw, she's so cute." Sleekmask purred looking up at the baby bat. "Do you think she'll come down?" She whispered quietly to Batflight.

Doveheart sat down and curled her tail around her paws. She followed Batflight's direction and watched a tiny bat flutter around. The she-cat didnt so much as blink when Sleetmask asked if the bat would come down. She hid her feelings well, just like her deputy did. But she could still tell how rude her comment had sounded to the black cat. Closing her eyes and bowing her head, she wondered how the other cats saw the cave.
