Gladepaw stared menacingly at the shecat's words. The last thing I need is to be corrected by this shecat! Tensing up she felt another cat's presence. She turned to see Emberpaw emerge from no where. Once his words were out Gladepaw cringed. "What?" She thought that the young apprentice was referring to Roseflight and at that time thought about lunging at the shecat then and there. But she then noticed Emberpaw's gaze was on her. "Y-you mean me...?" Her paws froze to the ground.

Roseflight looked calmly, but curiosly at the tom that had just apeared. His words surprised her, even though the she-cat already knew they were meant for Gladepaw. Emberpaw may have just stopped a fight between the two she-cats.
The medicine cat appentice took a few steps back, hoping to give the warriors-in-training more privacy. This wasn't for her ears, and as she said before, Roseflight knew her limits. But the temptation to listen was as great as her curiosity.

Gladepaw was still stuttering with her words. "I-I-I-" She saw Roseflight backing up and quickly flashed her a look, with the signature on her face saying, This isn't over... Turning back to Emberpaw she still couldn't find the right words to tell him what she felt. "E-Emberpaw I..."

Emberpaw felt bitterness well up inside him. He hated feeling like that. He was usually kind and very outgoing, but now his feelngs were reacting in the wrong way. "No, I'll tell you what I know oyu're going to tell me. You love Goldenblaze, sooooo much. I-It's just not right! I mean, I've always loved you? How could you be so blind! Let Goldenblaze be with Roseflight. Even if they're apart, part of him will always be in love with her. He'll never love you as much." the tom meowed sadly, the bitterness draining out.

Roseflight's face remained blank as Gladepaw shot her that look. But under the calm face, her pelt was bristling. Still, she turned and walked back into her den to let the apprentices talk on their own. As she left, she heard Embrpaw's decree, and ouldn't help but admir his audacity. It took guts to admit you love someone en they loved another. Se knew that much.

Gladepaw was hot under her pelt and still couldn't find the words to reply to him. "Emberpaw..." She was confused, frustrated, and guilty. All she wanted to do was run off the gorge... At that time the thought actually crossed her mind. Stunned at herself she realized her paws were shaking with her claws wanting to attack flesh that had betrayed her... something that she hated now even more than the hate of the one not loving her back... It was herself.... (sorry i havent been on xD)

He felt sadness replace bitterness. "What? I told you what I felt needed to be said. I-I understand if you still don't like me, but at least give me a chance. I'm not that bad, am I?" he meowed, looking at his paws.

Gladepaw shook her head rapidly. "No! No!" She thought that Emberpaw had a lot of courage to admit his secret, something Gladepaw has never been able to acomplish. "I don't mind g-g-giving you a chance..." Her pelt felt warm. "I-I- just never knew how you felt about me Emberpaw...."

He looked up from his paws, his eyes swimming with emotion. "I have always felt this way about you. I always will, no matter what happens. I guess it doesn't matter if you and Goldenblaze are in love. I'm not as important. If you love him, I-I just want you to be happy. That's the only thing that matters to me." he meowed.
