"Last time I had seen them, they were all healthy and fit. They look a lot like their parents," Roseflight confirmed. New kits were always a clan hit, and a great blessing at that. As many say, 'they're the future of the clan.' She looked up at her mentor, wondering why she hadn't been to see the kits yet. Usually there was a line leading out of the nursery, just different cats wanting to see the new additions.

Kits weren't really Toxicstep's thing, but she knew enough to know that kits needed to grow on their own and take their own paths if they wanted to be great warriors one day.

"I know what you mean, but I'm sure they'll figure that out. If not, they'll have to learn the hard way when the kits are apprentices." If they weren't careful, the kits may actually grow to dislike the closeness, although it didn't seem to happen often. Kits didn't seem to want to be fussed over that often once they were older, and a smothering parent was no good in their eyes.
