Going for a swim

[Leaf/Frost]

Leafwing walked up to the river, her mind reeling with feelings that she didn't truly understand. She may have had a rough day so far, but she hadn't done anything that went against the warrior code, had she? She shook her head violently.
I didn't do anything wrong. She thought. Let's just calm down.
Taking a large breath, the she-cat bounded into the air, the wind ruffling her fur. Suddenly, she was enveloped with coldness as she hit the water, producing a small splash. She was used to the feeling, but was a little out of practice. She gave a slight shiver, then opened her eyes.
The sight was even more fantastic than Leafwing had remembered. Through the crystal-clear water, she saw green, shiny plants bending with the river's flow, and silver-scaled fish darting among them. She wished that she could stay here forever. Silently, she swam back to the surface, not wanting to leave the amazing underwater world so quickly.
Leafwing broke the surface, took a breath, and prepared to dive again.

Featherheart was swimming up ahead and saw the calico cat and she got out of the water to see who it was. "Hey Leafwing! How are ya?"

[Leaf/Frost]

Leafwing turned around before she dove, the voice startling her.
"Oh, hi Featherheart. I'm fine, thank you. Just coming here to relax. I had forgotten how beautiful it is down there. I was just about to dive again."

"May I join you? I got alot on my mind and a good swim with a friend might help."
She said smiling.

[Leaf/Frost]

Leafwing smiled. "Most cats that I know wouldn't get their fur wet on purpose." She purred with amusement. "Still, feel free. I haven't swam with someone else for a long while now. Brace yourself, it's a bit cold."

" Yeah, I know i was just in the water, but it's colder out of it with the wind blowing on my pelt."
She said as she got into the cold river.
"I can't believe Wolfstar chose me to be deputy....what are the kits gonna say when they see how our deputy is one-eyed with an ugly scar to prove it."

[Leaf/Frost]

The mention of Featherheart becoming deputy brought what Wolfstar had said in his announcement back into Leafwing's thoughts. Batflight was dead, and so were Brindlefeather and Ashflight.
Leafwing looked down at the water, and watched it swirl. For a second, she thought she saw three pairs of eyes looking back at her, but she quickly dismissed the thought.
"I'm still trying to get over the death of Batflight." She mewed, unable to keep the mournful tone out of her voice. "I didn't really know her, but it's heartbreaking all the same. Can we change the subject to something a bit happier, please?"
