Greenlily was out hunting. She'd already caught a fair bit, and was going to try and catch only one or two more things before heading back to camp. She drank in the air around her and, scenting a mouse, began to pursue it. It led her towards the thunderpath, but she didn't mind. She'd been here plenty of times before. The mouse ran out onto the hard black surface, it's tiny paws pounding against the ground. Greenlily glanced around to make sure that there were no monsters in sight before sprinting out onto the thunderpath. She'd almost reached it when her paw fell into a crack and she fell forward. Pushing herself up and shaking her head, she growled in annoyance. The mouse had gotten away. With a sigh she attempted to turn around--only to find that her paw was stuck in the crack. She hissed in vexation and attempted to pull her paw back out, but it wouldn't budge. Suddenly the ground began to rumble, and she realized with a bolt of absolute horror that a monster was speeding towards her. Speeding towards her when she couldn't get away.

Wolfstar flinched as the sound of a monster neared. He thought nothing of it until he heard a cry pain and panic. He knew that voice. Only too farmiliar. Greenlily. He sprinted to the thunderpath and saw the oncoming monster. Greenlily struggled to move, but her paw was wedged in a crack. He bunched his muscles and sprang at her. He grabbed her by the scruff of her neck like a kit and tugged, not intending to slow down. There was a small thud as her paw freed itself. But it was too late. The monster spun out of control and sped up. Wolfstar lunged for the other side. Greenlily's extra weight didn't help. With one last leap, he landed in soft grass, panting hard.

Greenlily let out a cry and closed her eyes, waiting for the impact of the moster hitting her. This wasn't how she'd wanted it to end--she'd wanted to see her kits happy, she'd wanted to see her grand-kits, too, but now she would never get the chance. I wish I could have told Wolfstar I still loved him, she thought sadly. She took a deep breath and braced herself. Instead of feeling a monster's giant paw crushing her, she felt a set of jaws clamp down on her scruff and yank her towards safety. She whimpered as her paw was jerked unceremoniously from the crack it was stuck in, and the next thing she knew she was lying on grass beside none other than Wolfstar. She stared at him in disbelief, her green eyes stretched wide. "You... you saved me," she mewed, her voice barely above a whisper.

Wolfstar's eyes grew soft. "Of course I saved you. I couldn't just stand back and watch Starclan take one of my valued warriors. I may be considered rebellious, but I fight Starclan. They can't stop me, and if they do, I'll die in the process. I refuse to give up on hope. And, maybe I did do it because it's you. I-I still love you, never really stopped. I can't explain the crazy things you make me do, or how fast my heart beats when your soft voice whispers in my ear. I love, I always have, and always will." he meowed, licking the she-cats forehead.

Greenlily broke into a heartfelt purr, licking Wolfstar's chest affectionately. "I love you too, Wolfstar," she mewed. "Remember when I told you I needed time to think? Well, I've had time, and I still love you. I always will."
