Some Wounds Will Never Heal

[Ember~Rain]

Emberpaw slipped into the darkness after Frostpaw. "Frostpaw!" he called softly. He looked around for the tom, but saw nothing in the pitch black darkness. Suddenly he ran into the haunches of another cat. Shaking his head, he meowed, "Frostpaw, it's ok! There are those cats who don't believe. Toxicstep, one of the most seinor warriors doesn't believe, and look how she turned out. You'll be fine!" he meowed, butting Frostpaw in the shoulder with his head.

[Leaf/Frost]

"I......I'm not alone?" Frostpaw could barely contain himself. I never knew......Toxicstep is such a great warrior.......I never knew that she.....

[whisper]

Whisperpaw chased after the two toms until she caught up to them. "Oh course your not alone, silly!" she gently swatted his ear. "There are many others like you and you have no reason to be ashamed. And even if others ignore you because of it, you know that me and Emberpaw will always be your friends!"

[Leaf/Frost]

For once in his life, Frostpaw felt like he belonged somewhere.
"Thanks. Maybe I'll stop sulking now." He nuzzled both of his new friends. "Come on. Let's get back to camp." Turning toward the cave entrance, he look back and mewed, "Race 'ya there!" He broke into a sprint.


Finally, after months of waiting, Frostpaw was loved.

[whisper]

Whisperpaw grinned at his new enthusiasm. She smiled at Emberpaw before taking off after Frostpaw. Her paws beat softly on the hard ground but she felt happy that Frostpaw felt like he belonged somewhere.

[Ember~Rain]

Emberpaw smiled mildly at the tom's sudden enthusiasm. He watched Whisperpaw chase after him. What a nice couple they make he thought, podering sadly. He tried to stay netrual about it, though. Jealousy wasn't his thing. He made up his mind and followed his friends. They sure were serious about racing. He fell into the stalking position and sprinted for his life. He saw Frostpaw looking triumphant as the camp drew near. Out of nowhere, he leapt on the tom.
