Cloudkit tumbled out of the nursery, her white paws scrabbling at the hard earth. Her blue eyes were alight with excitement, and her tail was high in the air. It was just after sunhigh, and her mother and sibling were all asleep. But she'd been too revved up to nap, and so she'd snuck out of the nursery. But now that she was out, where was she to go? She scanned the clearing, watching the other cats go about their daily routine, and she imagined what it would be like when she was bigger. She'd be a true part of the clan then, and she'd show them all that just because she was a tiny kit didn't mean that she was any less a warrior.

Rainkit blinked her eyes open. She felt warm and choked by her brother, but cold, emptiness replaced the feeling of warmth where her sister usually layed. She got up and streched, quietly exiting the den. She saw Cloudkit a few feet away. "Cloudkit!" she hissed. "What are you doing???" Rainkit questioned, as though her sister had gone mad.

Cloudkit glanced back at Rainkit, blinking in surprise at her sister's incredulous tone. "What?" she mewed, her voice quiet so as not to wake the others. She turned around to face the nursery, her tiny body nearly half it's size again as her white fur fluffed up indignantly. "I just want to explore. It's so boring in the nursery!"

Stormkit stuck his head around the door of the den, glancing around. "Well, if you want me to show you all the good hiding spots, you better come quick," he told Cloudkit, flicking his tail impatiently. "Mom will notice we're gone soon, and we'll have got no exploring done at all." He noticed Rainkit, and raised a brow. "Do you want to come too? I'm showing Cloudy a hiding spot in a tree trunk I found the other day, it'll fit all of us..."

"And were are all of you going"Ghostkit asked as he walked up to them, anger burning into hos pelt after his talk with Wolfstar.

Rainkit grinned evilly. "Oh, yeah! Of coarse I want in! Watch and see what happens the first time you leave me out!" she mewed, butting Stormkit in the shoulder. Excitement buzzed through her. They were exploring some more! By the time they were apprenticed, they would know the whole forest! Rainkit followed her siblings, finding it hard to restrain herself from bounding forward and checking every crack in every tree for something exciting.

"Hey, I asked you a question now answer"Ghostkit repeated once again with a hint of anger

[Stormkit]

"We're going to show show Rainy and Cloudy, and you too, if you want, a hiding spot in a tree right about... here!" He stopped in front of a tree. He crouched, tensing his muscles, then bounded to the tree trunk, digging his claws and propelling himself up and into a small hole in the trunk. He fell on soft wood, slipping a little on the landing. He poked his head over the top. "Come on, it's easy!" He called to his siblings at the bottom.

Cloudkit looked up at her brother, the tree trunk looming ominously before her. She swallowed hard, but then bunched her muscles, her petite hindquarters wriggling as she prepared to leap. Then, with a tremendous effort, she launched herself up the tree and into the hollow in the trunk. She smiled at Stormkit before looking down at Rainkit and Ghostkit. "Come on you guys! If I can do it, you can!"

Stormkit nudged his sister. "Nice landing," he grinned at her happily. He looked down, as Ghostkit sneered something. "First off, we're the same age," he told his denmate rationally. "And besides, even if you did tell on us, it wouldn't really matter. We're up here already. So, are you coming, or what?" He flicked his tail, gesturing for the other kit to come up with them.

"First of all your all the way up in a tree and i'm not so I could tell your mother before you say oh crap"Ghostkit resorted

Cloudkit frowned and scrambled back down the tree, her paws slipping over the smooth tree bark. "What's your problem?" she asked coolly. She wasn't mad, exactly, but she didn't like how rude he was being. "We're just trying to have a little fun. Is there something wrong with that?" She shook her tiny white head before he could answer. "Tell on us if you want, they'll just come to get us and take us back to camp." With that, she turned and sprang back up the tree to the hollow in the trunk where Stormkit was still waiting.

Stormkit glanced down at Ghostkit. He still seemed to be seething a bit, so Stormkit sighed, and poked his head over the edge. "Are you coming up, Ghosty?" he called down, his voice even. He didn't want to start a fight, not with his sister here.
