Topaz meandered aimlessly into SunClan territory, sniffing the air occassionally to see if there were any other cats nearby. It was hard to tell, surrounded as she was by the scents of the Clan cats. Normally she wouldn't be so careless as to wander into Clan territory, but she felt the need to be a good neighbour and warn the Clan about what the twolegs were doing. She glanced down into the river just then as a flash of silver caught her eye.
Fish! she thought excitedly, lowering herself into a crouch. She waited by the edge of the water with one paw expertly raised. When the fish reappeared, she brought her paw down and scooped the fish up, throwing it up in a high arc. When it hit the ground again, she raced over and ended it's life with a swift bite. It was then that a SunClan patrol decided to show up. Topaz hissed at her rotten luck and turned to face the approaching cats.
Greenlily was leading a hunting patrol along the river, mostly just enjoying the beautiful day. She drank in the air, searching for the scents of prey but instead being met by the smell of an unfamiliar cat. Rogue? she thought worriedly. But no, the she-cat didn't smell like one of the rogues that had attacked. So a loner, then. She hissed for the other members of her patrol to be quiet and stalked up along the river's edge, hiding in the reeds.
But it was clear the loner had already scented them, because she was looking around in embarrassment, like she knew they'd seen her steal their prey. Greenlily straightened up and padded out into view, flicking her tail to indicate that her patrol should follow.
