Just sitting

[Ember~Rain]

Emberflash opened his eyes and ushered a huge yawn. He closed them again and rolled over, feeling the moss wiggle under his back. He streched his legs towards the roof of the den and arched his back until it cracked. He rolled over again, this time, he felt teeth meet his leg. "Ow!" he yelped, pulling his leg back and rushing into a sitting position. He had kicked one of his clanmates. "Watch it, I had to do midnight patrol! Can't a cat get decent sleep around here?" the warrior grumbled, turning around and going back to sleep.

[Birdsong]

One of Birdsong's green eyes opened a slit at the sound of her fellow warrior's grumble. "You aren't the only one who was on that patrol," she mewed quietly, arching her back and sitting up, "There'd no need to get grumpy." The tawny warrior then turned her attention to Emberflash and smiled a little before shaking her pelt out and glancing at the entrance to the den. "What time is it anyway?" she wondered aloud.

[Ember~Rain]

Emberflash watched the tawny she-cat strech and get up. "Hmmm, looks like it's just after dawn. I feel as though today is going to be a slow day." Emberflash commented, looking out of the exit to the den, He watched the sun as it clawed it's way up into the sky. "It'll be a beautiful day, though."

[Birdsong]

Birdsong nodded, picking her way through the sleeping bodies to sit beside Emberflash. She then started grooming herself, licking her forepaw before dragging it over her ears and face. All was quiet save for the soft sound of sleeping cats. "You feel like going hunting today?" she asked between licks, more to break the silence than anything else.

"I suppose so, I mean, I have nothing better to do. There is never anything to do but border patrol, and thats only fun when you get the senior warriors who flirt with their mate constantly, or even better, the single senior warriors who flirt with everyone!" he meowed, snickering a bit under his breath.

[Birdsong]

Birdsong looked at him skeptically, her green eyes dubious despite the fact that she was smiling. "And what exactly do you mean by that?" she purred laughingly, "You picking up tips to use on a special she-cat of your own?"

She butted his shoulder amicably before he could answer and turned, flicking her tail to let him know to follow if he so wished to. She padded over to the fresh-kill pile and, taking a chaffinch for herself, settled down not far off to eat.

Emberflash purred and shook his head, following Birdsong. While she took a chaffinch, he took a small vole. He came over and sat down beside her. He took a small bite into his food and crunched thoughtfully. "Now that you bring it up, I don't need advice about how to treat my she-cat," he meowed with a hint of laughter in his voice.
