Doveheart looked up from her grooming when Rosepaw stirred. She walked over and touched noses. "How was your first meeting with StarClan?" She purred. While the she-cat waited for an answer, she flicked her tail in signal to leave the caves. She padded next to her apprentice, breifly wondering why the young medicine cat had awoken with a confused look on her face.

Rosepaw was silent for a momet as they made thei way out of the caves. She didn't want to really mention Bluesar sauying anything about ther bond. . . But there wasn't to mch to talk about. "I got my answer." she confessed, looking straight ahead. Theywalked slower than what normal cats would, because of her limp. She tried her bst to maintana good pace, but it was hard to do so. If she tried o walk normally, he paw would give out under her every time she put wit on it, and whenit landed it thumped the ground louder than paws should beca she couldn't ajust it so it would be silent.

Doveheart took lead and walked out of cave, lifting her head when a cool breeze told her the tunnel entrance was near. "At least all is calm." She mewed after a while, meaning that no warning of danger had been given. By now dawn had broken, the sun just breaking over the horizons.

Rosepaw marveled at the beautiful sunrise that had started before them. The two of them walked in silence, the forest barely waking up with life. There was a gentle alarm call of a bird, aware of two cats slowly making their way through the forest, although neither were really in the mood to hunt. Early mornings were so peaceful, so beautiful. So free of fears and memories.

And that moment could be shattered in a second, but this didnt happen to the pair. As they neared camp, life could be heard coming from inside the protective barrier. "I want fresh-kill, then i think im going to go sleep for a moon." Doveheart mewed, jaws parting in an enormous yawn.

Rosepaw gave a small nod in agreement, exaustion washing over her suddenly. Her paws seemed to drag slightly more as they entered camp, cats stirring and getting ready for dawn patrol. The apprentice was tempted to simply go and sleep then eat, but her stomach growled hungrily, reminding her it was there.

Doveheart picked out a nice looking thrush and walked back to Rosepaw. Laying down, she motioned for the apprentice to come and eat with her. While that was going on, the medicine cat let her mind roam. The calico had just gone to the Crystal Caves, yet she felt that the young she-cat was ready. Yet her expression gave away nothing of what she was thinking.

Rosepaw ate hungrily at her portion of the bird, ignoring the pesky feathers. Simply sharing prey with her mentor was a relaxing task, familiar warmth coming off the other she-cat. Doveheart was really like her mother huh? But the apprentice wouldn't dare change it. She knew their bond was special, and maybe that made it worth being a medicine cat. Maybe. Getting up, Rosepaw stretched and yawned, smiling at her mentor. "I'll leave you to your thoughts before you decide to sleep." she mewed, almost knowingly. Rosepaw didn't know what her mentor was thinking about, but she did know that the medicine cat liked alone time to think things through often. So the apprentice padded into there den, curling up in her nest for a well deserved rest.

Doveheart gulped down her side of the thrush and padded after Rosepaw. She pushed her way through the willow curtain, greatful to get some sleep. Before she fell asleep, the last thing she saw was her apprentice. Part of her was happy, and the other part greiving. "Rosepaw...so much needed from one so little...I know you dont always want this, but theres no changing the past." The she-cat thought before blackness took over.
