Snowfur entered the den to see emptyness, for all the kits were outside playing.
I hope I don't get too attached to this place like I was as a kit.
I have to leave sometime.
She decided to make her own bed in the den where her kits were to be born.
It's so lonely in here.

Brindlefeather stumbled around the rambuncious kits and entered the nursery to see Snowfur. "Oh, hello. You're our newest queen? Congratulations! I wish I had kits of my own, but I guess taking care of the orphan kits can fill the void, for now."

Coalstorm walked into camp, carrying a thrush and a plump rabbit in his jaws. The tom set the thrush on the fresh-kill pile but kept the rabbit for Snowfur and himself. He walked with his head held a bit higher, Snowfur was going to have his kits soon. Oh I hope they're beautiful, just like her! The black cat thought to himself. The cry of his love made him stop in his tracks and drop the rabbit in his mouth, '' THE KITS ARE COMING!!! COALSTORM!! '' Snowfur cried. Coalstorm raced toward the nursery, his big paws making a bit more noise than nessicary. '' Doveheart! Roseflight! The kits are coming! '' He yelled over his shoulder to the two she-cats.
The tom squeezed into the nursery, which was no small task with his broad shoulders, and quickly spotted his mate who stood out horribly with her snow white fur. '' Excuse me, '' he muttered to Brindlefeather even though he couldn't help bumping into her a bit. It was hard for him to manuver in such a small place but he laid down behind Snowfur and began licking her rytamatically between her ears. '' Take deep breaths my love, you're doing brilliant. Roseflight and Doveheart will be here in a moment, everything is going to go just fine and out kits will be beautiful and healthy just like their mother... '' he meowed soothingly to the queen inbetween licks.

"Well, they should hurry!"
She yelled.
"I thi-think ones com-coming!"
She said to him in a hushed voice, panting with heavy breathing.
"Where are they?!?!"

Brindlefeather stepped forward infront of Snowfur. "We'll have to make do until they are here." she lightly set her paw down on the she-cats quivering flank. "Like Coalstorm said, deep breaths." she meowed. "No pushing unless we absolutly have to." she added. She felt Snowfur tense beneath her, her heart beating a mile a minute. "It'll be alright." she comforted.

The apprentice rushed into the den with all the needed herbs.
"Sorry!" she mewed her apology fo being late quickly, then gently touched the queen's quivering flank with her paw. Through this method she gauged when they were to come, and it wasn't much longer.
"The kits are going to be coming soon, and you have to push when I say." Roseflight looked to the pained queen, hoping she would understand.

She said, rubbing against him and suddenly jerked over.
"One's coming!" She said to Roseflight.

Brindlefeather ran her tail down the she-cat's side. "Don't worry, they already know that. Just let them do their job. You'll be fine. " she meowed calmly to the kitting queen. She felt the shudders roll over Snowfur and could tell she was in pain. It'll be alright, she thought, trying to convince herself.

'' I wouldn't leave your side for the whole of StarClan, Snowfur. '' he meowed soothingly to the soon-to-be-mother. He gritted his teeth as he heard the pain in his mate's voice as if it were his own, '' Can't you do anything for the pain? '' he pleaded to the young apprentice Roseflight. '' Don't worry Snowfur, Brindlefeather and Roseflight are going to take good care of you and our kits. '' he soothed the queen.

Doveheart soon followed Roseflight, managing to catch Coalstorm's plea.
"I would say only one poppy seed. Any more would make Snowfur fall asleep and we cant have that." She mewed calmly.
Padding to Roseflight's side, the she-cat checked the progress. The apprentice was doing remarkably well for her first time. Truthfully, there wasnt much they could do except tell the white queen when to push. It was up to the kits and more instinct then anything.
"Push now Snowfur." She said, just as calmly as before.

Brindlefeather turned and looked at Doveheart with an icy stare. "No. Isn't it unsafe for a queen nursing or expecting kits to have poppy seeds. It can be toxic to the kits." she turned back to Snowfur. "Now do as she says, push. Think of your kits." she reminded the queen gently.
