Wishes That Don't Come True

Roseflight was startled when her mentor suddenly trudged in. Goldenblaze acted inoccent and confused, although the confused part was probably not faked. Suddenly, the apprentice's face was almost as blank as Doveheart's other than slight confusion and curiosity.
How did she guess?
"What do you mean Doveheart?" she asked, trying to sound as confused as she could muster, which wasn't all to hard. "I had gone out to gether herbs, and Goldenblaze found me, so he helped out is all."

Doveheart narrowed her eyes at them both. She could understand their confusion, but they knew.
"You know very well what i mean. I can see that hidden shock in your eyes Roseflight, you too Goldenblaze." She mewed briskly.
Suprisingly, there was no disappointment or pain in the medicine cat's ice blue eyes. The only emotion to be seen there now was that of determination. She wanted them to tell her how long they've kept it hidden, insted of her trying to drag it from them.
