It was the half moon yet again, and Doveheart stood outside her den. "Come Rosepaw! We must get to the Crystal Caves before the next moon!" The medicine cat mewed. This time around, it was the older cat who was more excited. She controlled herself well, for the she-cat didnt want to ruin the suprise she had in store for her apprentice. Tonight, the calico would take her full medicine cat name.
((peice o crap, but it works XD))

Rosepaw yawned loudly, before following her mentor, who seemed to be full of energy for once. The younger feline was tired from scouting for herbs almost all day, and trying to sort a few things out. . . None of which needed to be named aloud. She just hoped it wasn't obvious. "You seem like a kit again!" she purred teasingly to her mentor, but complied as they started to walk out of camp. The younger she-cat had grown even more, and was nearing her adult size, always stretching to try and apear taller than Doveheart in a teasing manor.

Doveheart flicked Rosepaw with her tail. "Your not taller then me yet!" She purred back. As the she-cat lead the way out of camp, she couldnt keep a bounce out of her step. And there was a sparkle in here icey eyes as well. Yet she kept her jaws clamped shut, though a small purr rumbled in her chest.

She couldn't help but purr slightly at her mentor. It was a rare occasion that Doveheart was this happy. The younger she-cat had to think of what had happened to do so. At least she musn't know about her. . . Liking of Goldenblaze. The subject was so jumbled up that if someone stumbled upon their relationship now, they wouldn't see much. It seemed like they were still just two best friends, although they held back so many feelings everytime they saw eachother. And every time she saw Goldenblaze with Gladepaw, her heart seemed to tear slightly, hurting more and more everytime. But she was willing to suffer this pain, if only for him. So Goldenblaze could be happy and have kits, even from another she-cat. But being with her mentor, Rosepaw couldn't help but wipte any worry away for now at least.

Crystal Caves came into view, and once more Doveheart stopped outside. A peaceful calm came over the medicine cat as she pulled her haunches under her. Tail curved neatly around front paws, the wait was on. Tiny wisps of clouds dragged across the starry sky as the two sat there. It seemed like all of the she-cat's former excitement had vanished, and this was no more then an ordinary meeting with StarClan. Glancing at Rosepaw, she mewed softly, "Im proud to call you my apprentice. No matter what you do, I will always care for you." They were strong words coming from Doveheart, and she had meant every one of them.

The apprentice looked at her mentor oddly. Doveheart wasn't one for touchy feely moments, and this was unlike her. What was she getting at? Despite her surprise, Rosepaw found herself nodding. "I'm proud to call you my mentor. You've tought me more than just healing and herbs." she hesitated, then sighed. "You're the closest thing I have to a mother." Sure, Sleetmask was her kin, but it wasn't the same. The warrior still seemed distant, and moments between the two she-cats were awkward and silent for the most part.

Doveheart purred, giving Rosepaw a swift lick between the ears before standing. "Come, its time." She mewed. As the pair headed into the cave, all the excitment flowed back into the medicine cat. The cave only intensified her feeling as it seemed to bounce off the wall. Nothing would ruin this moment for them. Everything was pitch black, and soon enough the she-cat stopped trying to see and used memory to find her way to the place were cats shared tounges with StarClan. Her whiskers quivered with yet another calm phase as a cool wind suddenly hit them, saying their treck was about done.

The apprentice trailed after her mentor, her paw-steps easily slipping into that of where ancestors once walked. Rosepaw was eager to speak to StarClan again, wanting to have no limp to hold her back, but she remained calm as their trek came to an end. A slight chilled breeze blew past them as they made it to the pool that was their destination. It still dazzled her with it's beauty. Starlight from above barely touched it, but the bits that did sparkled and reflected vibrantly off of the water. Rosepaw leaned forward, preparing to lap up water and visit StarClan.

Doveheart lapped up some water, acting as though this were still a regular visit. No, the suprise would come after, as it was for her herself. The moment tounge touched water, everything changed. This time around, she was at camp, standing outside the warriors den. No familier scent of a StarClan cat was about her, but that had happened many times before, so she was not afraid. The medicine cat pushed her way into the den and looked around. There was a lingering scent of Goldenblaze, followed by some sort of sweet smell. Yet no matter how hard the she-cat wracked her brain, it wouldnt come to her. Backing out of the den, she turned around and almost ran over Silverface. The StarClan tom looked at her with knowledge only he knew. "You will know best when the time comes." Was all he said before disappearing.

Rosepaw entered StarClan's forest, breathing in its scent. They smelt of. . . stars. Was that even possible? She wasn't sure, but it was the only words she could think of. As the apprentice walked freely, bearing no sign of her injury, she looked around for any signs of other life. Yet no other cat greeted her. When the young she-cat came to the clearing where she had met Bluestar, there was no one. No StarClan cat was there, not even one from the Dark Forest. There was no cat at all. But there was a mound of rose petals, directly in the center. She stared in amazement, wondering how they had gathered there. But when she took another step closer, the erupted in a bright flame. The flame had a golden tint to it, and the petals remained unharmed. For a moment. After a few seconds, they started to wither and die, turning black as they did so. Within a few moments, all that remained was a heap of black and grey withered things, which blew away in the dust. "As a blazing fire may bring your rising, it will also be your fall." And then she awoke.

Doveheat woke as well. But her waking dream had seemed to sap all energy from her. What did it mean? The troubling thoughts where pushed from her mind as Rosepaw stirred. "Are you ready?" She randomly mewed, guessing that her apprentice would take it as a sign to leave. The thought of what was going to happen, it made the medicine cat glow with pride. She liked the fact that she was the one to teach the calico.

Rosepaw nodded before getting up and stretching, taking her time for now. Her mind wondered frantically about the dream. What did it mean? Was it talking about Goldenblaze? StarClan knew?! Were they not going to talk to her just because of it?! Her mind ran around, thinking of possibilities, trying to figure something out. Yet she could think of nothing else to explain it.

The look on Rosepaw's face told Doveheart that she had just as a confusing dream as she did. But that didnt matter for the time being. The medicine cat groomed herself as she sat there, unmoving. Eventually, she looked up again. "You know how warriors have ceramonies when their mentors think they are ready?" She randomly mewed. The she-cat wondered if her apprentice would catch the hint hidden in the sentence thrown at her.

The aprentice looked at her mentor oddly. Doveheart wasn't one to randomly blurt, unless it had reasoning. So what did she me- 'Oh!' "Yes?" she nodded, still acting oblivious. Rosepaw wondered if the older she-cat noticed the glint of aknowledgment in her eyes. . .

A purr shot through Doveheart's chest, she had caught onto the glint. Nothing gets past a medicine cat! Well, most stuff anyways. "I, and Wolfstar, believe you are ready." She mewed. Then the real ceramony began. Her gaze held Rosepaw's for a moment, then once more lifted to the sky above them. "I, Doveheart, medicine cat of SunClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the way of a medicine cat, and with your help she will serve your Clan for many moons. Rosepaw, She conintued, dropping her gaze back to the calico, "do you do you promise to uphold the way of a medicine cat, to stand apart from rivalry between Clan and Clan, and to protect all cats equally, even at the cost of your life?"
